Who We Are
Sandlanders Football works with African football clubs, supporters’ groups and associations, focusing on the development of sustainable sports clubs and infrastructure.
We offer a full range of consultancy services to stakeholders engaging in the business of football in Africa and as a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society, all of our revenues are reinvested into our activities.
Our experience in Africa has been built by practice. In the five years since Sandlanders was formed, we have:
• Developed community clubs from the ground up including constructing effective corporate structures and assisting in fundraising
• Worked with major clubs and supporters’ groups to reform existing corporate and financial structures and advised on various sports infrastructure projects
• Advised clubs and associations on issues including licensing, governance, sponsorship and league administration
• Researched and published an unprecedented report on African club structures and licensing
In addition to market-specific knowledge obtained from our experience, through a formal partnership agreement with Supporters Direct Europe (SD Europe) under which SD Europe has committed to support our activities, we are able to draw on their experience of working in over 20 European countries assisting local communities and clubs develop democratic forms of governance (including through their Club Development service).
